The Almighty Johnsons

I love this show, it's got that great dry and intelligent sense of humor that most New Zealand comedies have. The whole concept of the show is fantastic, it's a pretty awesome idea having the old gods living amongst us. I especially enjoy the incarnations of the giants and dwarfs and just wish they had used them more. The five main gods are awesome too, Axl (Odin) is the boss no one listens too to start with and it gives me chills when he pulls rank and gets all wrathful which is impressive for a skinny awkward guy.

Olaf (Baldr) is probably the coolest of the gods though, he just seems so unthreatening and nice yet he can kick ass and is quite old fashioned as he is quick to suggest a good old fashioned smiting. He is also the brothers' 90 odd year old grandfather but due to him being the god of long life he looks much younger. This leads to some of the best funny bits of the show as he gets into trouble a lot and gets frequently told off by his grand kids.

As with most thing these days, The Almighty Johnsons is full of hot women. Keisha Castle-Hughes is Gaia, Axl's flatmate.

Then there's the stunning Michelle Langstone who plays Michele (Sjöfn, the goddess of love).

Fern Sutherland plays Dawn (a mortal) who Ty (one of Axl's brothers and the god Hod or Höðr) is in love with.

The epically beautiful Brooke Williams is Eva who starts to go pretty mental after getting her god powers.

Then there's my personal favourite Eve Gordon as Stacey (Fulla), she's always pretty sexy and one of the funniest characters.

Shane Cortese is also pretty awesome in this as Colin (Loki).
