Starred Up

Starred Up is an amazing British crime movie, it's definitely how I would picture the way a UK prison would work. It looks awesome too and the acting is fantastic. Jack O'Connell is one of the best young British actors, his final episodes of Skins were some of the best TV I've seen in years. He is perfect in this as the lead, Eric Love, a highly violent young offender who has been in the system since he was 10 for killing a pedophile. The movie starts with Eric being transferred to adult prison before his time, probably due to his violence. His performance in this is flawless, I think we'll be seeing more of him in the future for sure. Ben Mendelsohn is also great in this as Eric's father Neville, a hardened criminal and long term prisoner who happens to be on the same wing as Eric. As is Rupert Friend who plays the prison's psychiatrist who tries to look out for Eric and help with his anger issues.

As this is a prison movie there isn't many women in it, in fact there's only one that's not an extra: Sian Breckin who is pretty hot.

In my opinion this is one of the best British movies for years.
