Silent Hill (movie)

This is probably one of the best movie adaptations of a video game. With the exception of a daft cult being added (which it really doesn't need) the movie feels pretty much like the game. They keep the mystery and so many shots look extremely close to the game, especially the eerie ash.

I quite like that they swapped Harry with Rose. It made no difference to the narrative and Radha Mitchell is a fantastic actress and an amazing looking woman.

Laurie Holden of The Walking Dead fame is spot on as Cybil Bennett, she really looks just like her video game counterpart which excited me when I seen her.

Now the main reason we watch these movies is to see our favourite monsters come to life in a live action movie. Silent Hill did not disappoint on this front. They could have had more monsters in this one but it is enough that they had the Pyramid Head in this. He looked exactly as he should.

The same goes for Alessa, all of her forms look almost exactly as they did in the game. From the bed-ridden monster to the creepy little girl.

Then there's the source of major confusion amongst teenage boys, the sexy but not sexy nurses. We shouldn't find these grotesque faceless monsters hot but no matter how much we fight it we always do.

This is with no doubt one of the best video game movies.
