The Darkest Hour

The Darkest Hour isn't the best movie in the world and it started off strong with a big budget feel then as soon as the night club scene starts it feels like a low budget made for TV movie. Emile Hirsch is pretty good in this, it can't be said for the rest of the cast though as some of them are actually so annoyingly bad that I found myself loving that they died. I enjoyed the movie regardless though that is probably largely due to my going in expecting it to be rubbish. It feels like the writer had a good idea though they didn't know how to put it down on paper. The people being ash was a nice touch though but it was done better in War of the Worlds.

I'm not the biggest fan of the aliens in this either, they kind of look like Pokemon to be honest.

The Russians did look pretty good though, like low budget Metro 2033.

As is quite common with lower budget movies there's a few hot women in this. Olivia Thirlby is always lovely.

One of the most crappy characters is Anne though she is played by the gorgeous Rachael Taylor known for Transformers.

One of the least crappy characters is Vika played by the stunning Russian actress Veronika Vernadskaya.

You should give this a watch if you like those shitty Syfy channel movies because it's definitely better than most of them.
